Senior Support Worker - Homelessness (Newham)

Job Description

Our client is one of the largest charities in London that support homelessness and vulnerable people. They have multiple service for clients such as young people, clients with a history of homelessness, mental health or substance misuse issues.

Position Available: Senior Support Worker - Homelessness (Newham), £13.62 ph, 3-6 months, 37.5 hours per week

Role Purpose

We are looking for cover for one of our navigator roles in Newham starting as soon as possible to cover maternity leave until 10th of January. This a senior support worker role so the hourly rate is paid £13.62. The role will be for a temporary basis on a rolling period.

We are therefore looking for a highly experienced worker who:

Experience/Skills ESSENTIAL

  • worked with vulnerable adults in the homeless sector
  • knowledge of lone working practices
  • experience working with individuals with complex needs
  • works in a creative and person centred approach
  • has knowledge of the housing and the welfare benefits system
  • and is able to provide examples of how they may of worked with individuals who require support in these areas.

The ideal person would have worked in the sector in a senior role beforehand or at least have considerable years of experiences as a project or floating support worker and therefore is able to take the next step in their career.
