A great opportunity has arisen for a very high calibre Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager (SHEQ) to join a leading supplier of packaging solutions who supply into to the entertainment, beauty and gift markets. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis in the Leicester area.
The purpose of this role is to develop all company health, safety, welfare, quality, environmental and hygiene business continuity management systems and to ensure they are implemented and maintained across the company.
The successful candidate will ensure that management is implementing and enforcing company procedures and standards on site.
You will advise Directors and Managers on legislative and other external changes and company policies and as well as being responsible for the development, maintenance, and continual improvement of the IMS to ensure they meet the requirements of standards (ISO 14001 / 9001 / 45001).
In the role you will ensure the business is fully compliant with all national/international laws & regulations as well as the requirements of ISO standards, clauses, and procedures. You will also provide evidence and support to demonstrate compliance e.g. risk assessments/SoW/audits/inspections/maintenance records/control of contractors.
You will carry out Risk assessments covering all Site Activities. COSHH. Noise, Manual Handling. ULD. RSI. Also included is the reporting methodology of accident and incident investigations covering Minor/Major RIDDORS.
Flexibility is required to travel to customer sites/sister plants (local).
Knowledge and skills requirements:
- Experience / understanding of the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of implementing ISO standards.
- NEBOSH certified.
- Environmental Knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
- Logical thinking with problem-solving ability.
- Excellent writing ability.
- Excellent attention to details and accuracy in work.
- The ability to work well with others.
- Good IT Skills-competent in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Visio.
- Seeks opportunity to improve company standards and processes.
- Self-motivated and show initiative.
Salary for this opportunity is £35k-£45k.
