Roadfreight Account Manager (Northampton)

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Roadfreight Account Manager with experience of the Freight Forwarding industry (land/road haulage) to join a world-class transport and logistics organisation. This is a full-time, permanent position to be based in the Northampton area.

The role would suit an individual who has previous experience within the logistics sector or has perhaps developed strong relationships within a Freight Forwarding environment as you will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the operations for all road freight service activity.

Ultimately you will be responsible for achieving and exceeding financial, appointment and telesales targets and for maintaining and developing your customer base. It is essential therefore that you can demonstrate an ability to build positive, professional relationships to achieve profit growth through the effective management of new and existing customer accounts from initial sales through to delivery. You will be confident in developing a portfolio of customers by generating your own leads and sales appointments via telephone and e-mail, then managing and developing the account once they are trading with you. This will include the preparation of quotations for presentation to the customer and managing all facets of the account for which you will be responsible.

Being the single point of contact for your customers, you will demonstrate professionalism, efficiency, a can-do attitude and have an enthusiastic and friendly manner as well as enjoy the buzz of the logistics sector and developing a variety of client accounts.

Working hours are 9am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary is £30k plus 8% commission paid on Gross Profit achieved plus a company car, iPhone, laptop and pension. You will also receive 24 days plus Bank Holiday's annual leave.
