Registered Childrens Home Manager

Salary: £40,000 per annum including target bonus

Our Client:

The client is looking for a registered children home manager who has has experince in residential setting for a minimum of 5 years. The client has been established for a long time and has successfully managed to provide many services within all the homes they own. If you would like to make a differnce in a child's life on a daily basis, then this may be the job for you.

The Position:

The position that the client is looing for is a registered children home manager, who has a minimum experince in residential setting for atleast 5 years.

To hold legal responsibility and provide leadership and management of registered children's home/s; overseeing and ensuring the delivery of high quality therapeutic care to young people as part of Care Specialist service Model. Managing and developing staff teams and individuals, as well as contributing to the overall objectives of the wider organisation.

Keeping the home up to date with all regulatory requirements and keep the home at an optimum occupancy level for the needs of the organisation and the service specification.

To develop the staff team's knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices and processes; leading, co-ordinating and resolving safeguarding matters as required.

To provide leadership and guidance to support decision making that is always in the best interests of the young people and the organisation actively monitoring and providing feedback to individuals and line manager in this regard.

To embody actively the positive culture of the organisation, in line with the five values and challenge negative attitudes appropriately.

To lead actively, motivate, delegate and provide direction to staff teams to ensure effective use of working hours, monitoring actively and providing feedback to individuals in this regard.

To oversee and monitor the safety and well-being of young people and developing a culture of alertness to signs of distress, neglect and abuse.

To lead on the development of a culture of mindfulness in relation to race, culture, language, and religion, to ensure that every young person is treated fairly and as an individual entitled to respect and dignities.

  • 5 years minimum experince in being a manager for a residential childrens home.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or a qualification which the registered provider considers to be equivalent to the level 5 diploma.
  • Full uk driving licence
  • Good physical and mental health (Would need to provide a satisfactory medical report)
  • Willing to work unsocial hours, flexible and self motivated.

Knowledge Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Thourough Knowledge of child development issues and the pathology of abused young adults.
  • Understand of Childreans Act 1989
  • Understanding of oppression, ability to demonstrate and promote anti-discriminatory practise.

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to support, manage and develop staff
  • Team player
  • Ability to work independantly
  • Effective communication skills as well as good usage of IT.
