Project Manager

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a world-class logistics and distribution business which is very well respected in the industry. This is a truly exciting time to join the company, a true leader in their field, as they continue successfully to expand their portfolio of clients. Whilst a field-based role, ideally you will be Midlands based.

You will be part of the senior Transformation Project Team, in which you will manage a TMS rollout programme from design, build, test, go-live, early life support, project closure and lessons learnt. The role will pull on a wide and varied skill set in distribution project management, more so from a business perspective rather than an IT "technical" perspective.

You will manage a project portfolio of around 4 projects at any one time, ranging across both warehouse and transport in both systems and operations. The breadth of the role will cover handling the Microsoft project plan, document control, internal and external reporting, gateways, health checks, weekly project workstream meetings, monthly project team meetings, customer meetings, milestone/critical path reviews, budget tracker etc…

It is essential that you are Prince 2 qualified to Practitioner level and are able to work in a Prince 2 focused environment (advanced Microsoft systems experience would also be an advantage) as you will be managing large and complex projects with multiple workstreams at various locations around the UK. Experience of working with Workstream Leaders that are subject matter experts will be essential.

You will be a self-starter with good time management skills. You will possess commercial acumen, be a strong communicator and influencer. Experience within a 3PL environment will be deemed extremely favourable. Self-motivation and an ability to manage your own time, travel and workload is of course a prerequisite.

The role is a 6 month FTC, with an option to make permanent subject to a successful contract period.

For immediate consideration, send your CV without delay!
