Job Description

I am recruiting for a fantastic opportunity to join a leading manufacturer who have been established for over 30 years, they have a fantastic portfolio of products and are keen to recruit a Manufacturing Team leader.

Role overview
To assist the manufacturing manager in the supervision and management of the manufacturing department to maximise productivity in line with current food laws in a GMP environment.

The Manufacturing Shift Leader will have responsibility for day to day supervision of a group of Manufacturing Operatives to ensure run rates are maintained, tooling is thorough and correct and that there are effective shift handovers for each shift, forward planning for Night Shift wherever possible. The Manufacturing Shift Leader will be expected to be hands on with ensuring all equipment is in good working order, escalating this to the Engineer and Manufacturing Manager if there any issues.

The Manufacturing Shift Leader will undertake duties with all aspects delegating the Product Schedule, maximising manufacturing efficiency, monitoring and resolving any issues with product quality, ensuring the correct completion of all documentation and logs and all aspects of staff management and training.

The Manufacturing Shift Leader will support the department by implementing all Manufacturing policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assists Manufacturing Manager and performs elected management duties when manager is absent or out of office.
Assists in managing inventories and stock ensuring replenishment is requested from the Unit 1 warehouse when stock levels are low and will impact production.
Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.
Assists manufacturing manager with new team member training and working processes and relevant SOP's.
Undertakes department induction for new starters.
Identifies poor/incorrect practice in their team and addresses it quickly and respectfully.
Assists with probation period reviews of new starters in their team.
Demonstrates good communication to team, listening skills and establishing behaviours to motivate and establish respect within the manufacturing team.

General Duties
Maintain your working area in a clean and professional condition.
Maintain professional standards in both personal appearance and behaviour.
Maintain strict company confidentiality at all times.
Report immediately to the Company, any matter that you believe transgresses either Health & Safety, or other employment regulations.
·Report any damage to Company property, howsoever caused, to a member of Management as soon as possible.
Follow all other rules and procedures with regard to attendance and absence reporting as detailed in the Company's Absence Policy.
Follow all rules and procedures with regard to Health & Safety and the wearing of applicable P.P.E.
Follow all relevant rules and procedures with regard to the Company's Quality Management System to ensure the Company's compliance to EU GMP (Medicinal Products) and Food Law.

GSCE or equivalent in Maths and English
Strong team building skills

Proven team leading ability
Experience of people management
Ability to learn quickly in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Experience as a production or manufacturing Shift Leader or equivalent Shift Leading experience

Desirable skills / Qualifications
Experience of Manufacturing/Production/Factory environment
