Production Planner

Job Description

Our client is a highly successful, market leading, manufacturing company in Alfreton

Due to continued success they are now looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner

The Production Planner will be responsible for ensuring the correct work orders are issued to the shop floor in accordance with the Production Plans. You will liaise with Supply Planning to receive a production plan, which should then be converted into a daily production schedule for designated work centres or production facilities.

Duties will include:

Attend daily and weekly planning meetings

Review performance and receive rolling 2 week Production plans

Conversion of production plans into achievable daily production schedules, ensuring all required WIP / materials are available and taking into account capacity, labour, optimal cycles and availability priorities

Raise works orders to enable production to execute the schedule

Review daily performance with production, ensuring misses are captured and addressed, rescheduling where necessary.

Ensure schedule adherence is tracked

Support planning in the creation of availability trackers to enable effective communication to stakeholders

Support planning in understanding and challenging capacity constraints, options and risks

Adhere to working capital targets, raising any review points with planning

Support in documenting Standard Operating Procedures

Support NPD projects and their successful delivery

The successful Production Planner will have previous experience of Production Scheduling in a Manufacturing environment

Worked to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment

Experience with ERP systems - in particular SAP

Self-motivated, an excellent team player and able to communicate effectively.

IT skills, including Excel, Word & Power Point

Strong problem solving & numeracy skills

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical talents and have the ability to effectively communicate with others.

Salary for the Production Planner is in the region of £26-30K, negotiable depending on experience.
