Production Planner

Job Description

A Fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Production Planner to join a forward thinking Food Manufacturing business that has ambition for growth. If you are seeking an opportunity to help a business on a journey and contribute significantly to its successful expansion, then this role is ideal. We are looking for someone that can offer fresh expertise and experience however is willing and excited to learn and develop, as this planning role will offer you exposure to new experience and skills.

Key role expectations

  • Set the daily production plan for.
  1. Optimum performance based on the most efficient product standards.
  2. Food safety (allergen and cross contamination best practise).
  3. Agility by utilising the line balancing model if required.
  4. 100% customer service.

  • Plan resource in line with production plan. Removing opportunities in the day to have staff not required or offer instructions how to utilise.
  • Attending and contribute to continuous improvement in daily S.I.C or review meetings.
  • Influence agenda and KPIs in appropriate review meetings.
  • Build rapport and effective relationships with the department managers.
  • Invest as much time as appropriate in the production area.
  • Major stakeholder in supporting task cycle time collation and building a line balancing labour model.
  • Producing, Maintaining and distributing production KPI reports.
  • Work with the sales team to identify and escalate potential capacity challenges on a 3-6-month horizon.
  • Raw material & packaging ordering
  • Allocating daily jobs and workloads.
  • Managing & maintain the Planning systems.
  • Challenge the current process/procedures and propose/implement beneficial alternatives.
  • Driving force in stock control and transaction compliance performance.
  • Lead and delegate investigations with under performance in stock accuracy.
  • Track and feedback to the operations yield performance.
  • Identify and train someone within the ops team as a deputy to support covering on your days off.
  • Ownership in your personal development.

Skills and characteristics, we are looking for

  • Competent in excel.
  • Experience in Sage (however not essential this can be trained).
  • Confident in presenting and facilitating reviews.
  • Embraces feedback and support.
  • Diverse communicator.
  • Passionate for continuous improvement.

This is a full-time permanent position working from Sunday - Thursday from 7am - 3.30pm

Salary for this opportunity is £30,000
