Production Operative

Job Description

Our Client is a producer of high performance packaging, specialising in corrugated cardboard products to a variety of well known distributors and also the Pharmaceutical Industry. They have a position that has arisen for a motivated Production Operator, to join their busy manufacturing team.

The working pattern is 40 hours per week, based on two shifts that rotate every two weeks. They are:

06:00am to 14:30pm & 14:30pm to 11 pm.

Based centrally in Lincoln, the role consists of: Production and Machine Operation

These are the machines involved in this role

  • Operate the Die cutting machinery
  • Operate the Semi Auto box maker
  • Operate any Stitching and Gluing finishing machines
  • Operate Manual box machines

Operate in line with Health and Safety regulations set out in the training

Ensure all maintenance and Housekeeping is carried out and recorded including use of Compactors, and Filter Press

Follow and adhere to Work Instruction and Organisational processes

Work within a team and communicate well even under pressure, and take full responsibility for the quality of product and team when responsible for it

Meet production targets

Communicate with responsible person any health and safety issues, maintenance issues or matters of concern on the floor

Be at the machine ready to operate promptly at the time of start and hand over to incoming colleague as needed

Operation of a forklift in any capacity reasonably required by the organisation

Be part of a fire response and first aid team as needed

Use PPE and wear appropriate clothing as provided. (This may include in time a uniform, and may include abiding by Jewellery policies etc that may become applicable through further Certifications the company decides to undertake)

Assist in training or supervision of new team members.

Any other reasonable request by management

The client is extremely proactive with regard to Training and Development once fully trained the salary will increase to £11.00 per our (£22,800.00 PA).
