Production Line Leader - Food Manufacturing

Job Description

Barker Ross are currently recruiting for a Production Line Leader for a Food manufactring site based in Retford Nottinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for upholding and helping to enhance the company food safety, legality, quality and authenticity culture.
  • Leading by example, ensure behaviours and actions are consistently in line with Company Values and our 'SAFE' culture and ensuring that all processes and procedures regarding Health, Safety and Hygiene are strictly adhered to.
  • Ensuring that all pre-start checks are completed and to a satisfactory level
  • Encourages a safe working environment for employees in their area & supports H&S initiatives.
  • Label and machine checks, set up the line and conduct a visual inspection of the line, reporting any faults or damaged parts to the Engineering and Operations Manager
  • Operate machinery efficiently & minimise downtime where possible.
  • Support Technical/ OM in writing SOP's where required and cascading training on updated or new SOP's to the production teams.
  • Ensuring all agency workers and Phoenix Line staff are trained and understand how to operate the production line against Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Seen to enforce quality standards on a daily basis & take appropriate action when standards are not met.
  • Lead by example to ensure good Hygiene and Good Housekeeping practices are maintained across the site.
  • Work closely with Technical and QA's to ensure appropriate standards are being consistently met and SOP's are being followed

Job Type: Permanent Role

Salary: £21,000 plus additional overtime

Working pattern:

Start time if approx. 06:00 for set up ready to run at 06:30.

Finish time does vary, it is approx. 4pm, but my clients operate only one shift so work for the day must be completed. This can sometimes be earlier and can also be later, all depends on production demand.

Operational hours are Monday to Friday, with the occasional Saturday working.

Machine operation and skill is key for this role.

Ideal candidate is someone very confident, can think for themselves and will give anything ago. Logical thought process when dealing with machine breakdowns.

The role can be physically demanding.

This is an online position, so they will be on the shop floor for all of their working shift

  • 8-hour shift (flexibility)
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Ideally 6 months experience within warehousing environment

Licence/Certification:

  • Full UK Driving licence (required)
