Press Production Operative Food Manufacturing

Job Description

Our client is a highly successful food manufacturing company in Milton Keynes. Due to continued growth they are now looking to recruit a Press Production Operative for their mixing room.

The Press Production Operative will be working as part of a team of food press operators and responsibilities will include:

Carry out the operation of press machines & associated equipment- dividers, press, proffers, ovens, producing quality food products that are manufactured within specification and achieving targeted production KPIs.

Mix batches of dough , strictly according to mix specification and company standards, scan and record data.

Understand mix control, water specifications, product sizes, and shape, vision system for waste

Carry out and understand shimming for out of spec sizes and reduce vision waste.

Carry out tooling changeovers, platten and belt changes on the press.

Carry out cleaning duties and requirements of equipment & machines to a high standard.

Maintain a safe working environment , fully complying with legislative requirements and company policies and procedure. Actively promote Health & Safety in your working environment & in all factory areas.

Record all process information onto shift paperwork and AX system.

Operator data capture and record information for works orders and line stoppages, breakdowns.

Hours of work are on a panama type shift pattern working a combination of days and nights, 12 hour shifts 6 til 6

The successful Press Production Operative will have experience of:

Food press operation: worked in a bakery, understanding of dough, dividers, doughballs, ovens

Team work: positive participation as part of the team

Flexibility: Adapt to change in a constructive and positive manner

Communication : Communicate clearly with colleagues and management in English - this includes verbal, written, reading and numeracy competency.

Problem Solving: Report situations/incidents in a timely manner and as required, be an active participant in the solution process.

Relationships: Treat all colleagues with dignity and respect.

Shift work: Work rota days and nights

Benefits for the Press Production Operative include:

£30,511.26(trainee) rising to £33,151.02 on successful completion of training

Holiday: 21 days (Bank holidays need to be taken as holiday if rostered on)

Healthcare: Entitled to Simply Health level 3 on successful completion of probationary period

Pension: The company will give 5% if matched with 3% employee contribution on successful completion of probationary period

Life assurance: 3 x annual salary
