Peer Support Team Admin

Job Description

Our client is a large charity and housing association that support people overcoming homelessness, mental health issues and drug and alcohol problems. They provide residential, prison, community and specialist services.

Position Available: Peer Support Team Admin -, 37.5 hours, temporary 3-4 months, £10.76 per hour

Location: Predominantly working from home, occasionally visiting other locations across Camden and Islington.

Role Purpose:

This project aims to develop partnerships across Camden & Islington's existing peer support programmes, to agree shared values and best practice across services and to develop and deliver training opportunities to standardise and elevate practice, ultimately improving the experience of Peer Workers and Service Users across the boroughs.

A team admin is required to support the implementation of this project by researching the peer support services across the boroughs, reaching out to these services to explain the project and gather initial information and feedback and to support the team in developing resources, training and publications.

Experience required:

Skills and Knowledge

1.Good levels of written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills

2.Good IT skills, IT literate in Microsoft Office and the ability to use video conferencing such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom

  1. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload & work autonomously

4.Ability to form strong working relationships with individuals and services & work collaboratively

5.Awareness of, or the ability to understand the role or Peer Support in health and social care services.

6.Awareness of risk and safeguarding issues

7.An understanding of the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Dispositional Attributes

8.Ability to show a warm, empathic and non-judgmental attitude towards Service Users who face multiple disadvantages.

9.Drive to explore, understand services from the point of view of a person with lived experience and the confidence to ask questions and challenge ways of working.

DESIRABLE

Experience

10.Lived experience of mental health difficulties and/or substance misuse and or/homelessness and/or contact with the criminal justice system and/or experience of working in a peer support role
