Operations Manager - County Durham

Job Description

Our well established client based in Newton Aycliffe is the UK's largest independent supplier of heat pumps and ancillaries. They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join their expanding business on a full time permanent basis.

This interesting and varied role is paying an annual salary of £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience, along with entry into the company pension scheme and annual performance related bouses. Hours of work would be 8.30am-5.30pm, Monday to Thursday, with a 5pm finish on Friday's.

We are looking for someone who has experience within an operations and despatch related role, someone who is flexible, able to lead and motivate a small team and embrace new challenges.

Leading a team of 4 people and reporting into the Business Directors, duties of the role will include: -

  • Overseeing logistics/warehouse
  • Procurement of packaging/warehouse materials - ensuring packaging legislation is adhered to
  • Dealing with credit insurance from the perspective of giving new customers credit, reviewing credit limits, applying for credit limit increases etc.
  • Dealing with supplier invoice issues i.e., requesting/chasing credit notes from suppliers and raising credit notes to customers
  • Ensuring customer and supplier incidents are logged and analysing this information on a quarterly/annual basis
  • Overseeing IT issues and liaising with the company's external IT company regarding this
  • Organising business insurance i.e., public liability and key person insurance
  • Advertising and mailshots
  • Looking after company car contracts
  • B2B websites, ensuring these are kept up to date i.e., new products etc.
  • Ensuring new legislation is adhered to for waste disposal
  • Dealing with warranty claims for heat pumps bought directly from Sweden
  • Monthly/quarterly financial reporting
  • Checking supplier rebate amounts
  • Overseeing health and safety procedures
