A great opportunity has become available for a Night shift Manager to join one of the largest manufacturers of RTE products that supplies to both retailers and foodservice options across the UK. Based in Northampton on a full-time permanent basis.
The successful candidate will report into the Production Manager. You will ensure that your areas of responsibility are operating to the highest standards in line with business goals and objectives. You will deliver daily production / hygiene in a safe, optimal quality and efficient manner through a highly motivated team. Taking a 24/7 approach to your area of responsibility and driving continuous improvement.
Health & Safety - To pro-actively leads a safe working environment for all employees on shift, and that as a minimum the operation meets the standards set out in the Health & Safety policy.
Quality Standards - To lead and drive standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping through Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.) and to ensure that both Business and customer standards are exceeded, and audit requirements are fully met.
Performance Management - Leads and supervise a team, utilise if required the performance management systems (i.e. appraisal) and, if necessary, to impose disciplinary sanctions in accordance with Company policy through to dismissal stage. Ensure that each level below you have accountabilities.
Training & Development - Take accountability for the training & development of your team. Actively coach, develop, recruit and train team members to the required level of competence to encourage continuous improvement within the area and business.
NPD Process - Lead the team to manage the NPD process, to ensure that all trials run successfully and through to product launch. Exceeding customer expectations and delivering within budget.
Performance Improvement through use of KPIs - Challenge and introduce KPIs to drive performance. Ensure team delivers agreed KPIs across the department and area ensuring systems are in place to collect the necessary data to measure performance against the agreed KPIs. Develops and implements Performance Improvement Plan (PIP'S) and identifies areas for improvement.
Resource Management - Leads the team in Planning, organising, and measuring labour and material requirements within their area to ensure that both short- and long- term agreed targets are met.
Communication - Drive the communication strategy to ensure that the workforce is informed on relevant business news and to encourage effective cross-functional links and those channels of communication are clear and available. Leads the team to deliver fortnight team briefs and update the team and business with updates.
Recruitment - Involvement in the selection process and structure of the team ensuring that the necessary skills are in place at all levels. Responsible for the development and coaching of your operators, supervisors, and team members.
Employee Relations - leads by example in encouraging the Pure drive values, developing a positive culture on site, whilst fostering good employee relations through fair, consistent and effective people management. Leads a positive approach with support from the human resources manager & Production Shift Manager.
- You will have at least 2 years' experience working in a food manufacturing industry
- Previous experience managing a team
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- The ability to build a strong sense of team ownership and maintain a high level of morale within the work force.

The hours for this role are Panama Shifts working from 6pm - 6am
The salary for this position is £38,000 - £40,000
