A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Industrial Engineer at an automotive component manufacturer based in Leicestershire.
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for developing and improving low-cost, high-performance manufacturing methods and processes, ensuring product quality, ergonomics & safety in order to meet manufacturing business objectives.
Specific duties and responsibilities
- Ensure MTM's are correct, maintained, approved and updated in SAP.
- Ensure GEOCS are completed on time and manage the changes through the production team.
- Maintain and regular review of PFMEAs together with quality engineer at minimum. Ensure all Poke Yoka are available to validate prevention and detection methods.
- Monitor and improve OEE, ensuring a high level of technical availability, and TPM activity
- Te reduction whilst supporting productivity improvements.
- Ensure all IE transactions in SAP are correct and up to date.
- Ensure all documentation (work instructions, scan to pack, ect) are up to date.
- Upkeep and optimization of cell layouts to clients standard.
- Ensure ergochecks are up to date, with improvements being realized where required.
- Quarterly and annual budget review for tools, fixtures and machines.
- Facilitate and drive continuous improvement activities in line with business targets and objectives eg. Kaizen workshops, manufacturing and logistics rationalisations
- Support customer teams with the planning of new projects and lessons learnt.
- Support problem solving as required inside the production team
- Undertake other projects and activities in support of both manufacturing and pre-production, or as required

Essential Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Production Engineering
HNC in Production Engineering
Minimum 2 years relevant experience, preferable in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment/
Essential knowledge & skills
- MTM certification
- Techniques in Lean Manufacture - OEE, kanban, kaizen, cellular manufacture
- Knowledge of data processing - using standard software
- Tools and techniques of analysis and problem solving
- Use of SAP / FMEA / AutoCAD
- Laser and MAG welding technologies
- Robotics would be an asset
Hours of work are 38.5 hours working between Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm and Fridays between 8am - 3pm (to be agreed prior to starting role).
Salary for this is between £35,000 - £48,000 depending on experience.
