Logistics Business Development Manager (Northampton)

Job Description

One of the leading premium providers in the two-man white glove home delivery network has an opportunity for a Business Development Manager. This opportunity is available for the successful candidate to work from home or to be based within a commutable distance to their Northampton site.

You will deliver profitable new business in line with organisational strategic goals, identifying business opportunities, building key customer relationships, negotiating and closing business deals and maintaining extensive knowledge of market conditions.

You will apply business acumen to filter unsuitable business and qualify best leads from the pipeline and also define project approach, developing tailored proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.

As an individual you will require 5 years previous Business Development experience. You will possess strong sales and persuasion skills with ability to influence to a senior management level and also be an entrepreneurial thinker with a strong drive to succeed. You will have a high degree of business acumen with ability to interrogate commercial propositions dealing with tenders.

You will be a strong networker and a relationship builder who has excellent communication skills and a track record of success in the production of external tender responses. Excellent organisation skills are essential and you will be IT literate and have experience of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

You will meet with client's on a weekly basis to review accounts. These meetings will be held at the client's premises so flexibility is required. You can work from the office on a daily basis or from home.
