Logistics Business Development Manager (3PL/e-commerce)

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Business Development Manager with a dynamic and rapidly expanding logistics provider on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a truly exciting time to join the company that specialises in FMCG, Retail, Fashion, Supply Chain, 3PL and Distribution.

The main purpose of this role is to develop and deliver a commercial strategy with particular focus on warehousing and fulfilment (B2B & B2C).

The Logistics Business Development Manager strategy will include targeting and delivering new business that exceeds sales and profitability targets whilst delivering the company goals, building the brand, and delivering year on year growth in turnover and EBITDA.

The role holder will identify the needs and requirements of customers to promote our solutions and achieve mutual satisfaction across all accounts.

In the role you will:

  • Contribute to the development of new business and enhanced existing customer propositions (together with short term incentives) to enhance sales and profitability.
  • Support the tender / proposal process by producing high quality, written material that clearly articulate the organisations value proposition.
  • Co-ordinate completion of the tender submission ensuring submission dates are met. Ensuring support is provided and logged for any issues that may arise.
  • Develop and implement leading, consistent prospecting disciplines and activities to ensure that the business has an on-going healthy prospect pipeline.
  • Develop and implement sales support approaches that will enhance opportunities to win deals.
  • Developing and maintaining library of tender documentation relevant to bids through liaison with other departments.
  • Conduct Market research and gain market intelligence sufficient to support the development of new business opportunities.
  • Represent the Company, presenting proposals and where appropriate, progressing leads through to new business generation.
  • Update and manage the internal CRM to consistently maintain accurate data relating to the active pipeline and opportunities.
  • Ensure consistent and continuous knowledge and understanding of both business solutions and system developments.

Salary for this excellent opportunity is up to £75k plus company benefits.
