A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a IT Support Analyst at an automotive component manufacturer based in Coventry.
Specific duties and responsibilities
- First point of contact of any software or hardware issues in the office or on shop floor; supporting Brose Coventry plants. Provide first / second level support; log all calls using internal helpdesk software; troubleshooting of software and hardware issues
- Provide and support all office & shop floor IT activities, including setting up of computers, notebooks, printers, scanners, workplace, docking stations, information points (iPoint) and patching cables
- Logging both internal and external customers software and hardware issues
- Installation and configuration of hardware and software to Brose standard using internal client deployment software; including computers and notebooks and all associated network device; issuing of hardware to users and restore data from backup server
- Administering and maintaining user accounts using windows Active Directory
- Support mobile working users across several platforms, including iOS, Microsoft Intune, and remote access
- Provide training to users on Brose office tools
- IT Asset management (inventory update and disposing of obsolete hardware)
- Supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and MS Office applications O365
- Basic Windows servers and Network administration (only allowed to administrate local Cisco switches and Servers with limited access)
Qualifications & experience required
- Degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience of working within a technical support team
- Relevant experience of IT support
- Problem solving skills in hardware and software issues
- Very good knowledge of Windows 7/10 and MS Office 2016 and O365 applications
- 1-3 years' work experience in a related field
- Good knowledge of Network and Telecommunications (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Cisco switches); CCNA part1 qualified and basic knowledge of firewall preferable
- Good knowledge of VMWare
- Good knowledge of Windows 2016 R2 and Windows 2019 servers
- Knowledge of Excel and VBA desirable
- Good knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes
Hours of work are 38.5 hours working between Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm and Fridays between 8am - 3pm (to be agreed prior to starting role).
Salary for this is between £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience; plus, on call allowance of £1,500 per year.
