This is an extremely key role for up to 3 months reporting to our Director of Staff Wellbeing within our Corporate Development directorate. This is a busy team and there is a "bulge" in work due to catch up following the initial slow down caused by the pandemic. The Service is currently embarking on a number of policy initiatives and we do not want to lose sight of implementing those whilst keeping on top of the essential HR casework. By march we will have a new Workforce Strategy, Ethnicity Pay Gap Strategy and Year 2 of our Gender Pay Gap Strategy to deliver and we want to be in good shape to help deliver those. Key areas of responsibility will be: * Working as part of the team to ensure excellent standards in the delivery of HR process and casework * Ability to carry a personal varied caseload across the HR function * Maintaining good relationships with Trade Unions in relation to casework * Assisting with the development of junior staff members Individuals will need to be confident and pragmatic, delivery and solutions focussed, with extensive experience of HR casework and detailed knowledge of HR processes. They will have experience of liaising and maintaining positive relationships with Trade Unions and dealing with large scale restructures. They will be committed to sharing their expertise and experience in order to grow and develop colleagues within HR. The council is developing some key organisational development strategies at the moment, (as set out above) depending on candidate's knowledge and experience there maybe opportunities to get involved in these too.
