We are recruiting an experienced Hygiene Manager (Nights) for one of the largest manufacturers of RTE products and supplies to both retailers and foodservice options across the UK. They are currently looking to recruit Hygiene Supervisors to work within one of their sites based near Kettering. This is working on a permanent night shift basis 2 on 3 off (18.00 to 06.00)
On a day to day basis your duties will include:
To be responsible for the monitoring, discipline, motivation and training of the Hygiene team.
To ensure all sanitation is carried out to the highest quality, consistency and food safety standards at all times following a 'right first time' attitude.
Ensure standards of hygiene and housekeeping are strictly maintained
As part of a team, to investigate fully any Out of Specification results from swabs and along with the Technical Manager identify trends that require investigation and make recommendations as a result of the investigations. These investigations should aim to identify the root-cause of the out of specification result.
To carry out hygiene audits across the site as required to maintain the hygiene standards required.
To communicate effectively the requirements of the business to the hygiene operatives and to give feedback both positive and negative where necessary (audit feedback/ swab results).
To ensure that sufficient numbers of trained operatives are available to fulfil the hygiene requirements of the business and to highlight any potential shortfalls.
To ensure that sufficiently detailed work instructions are available for all key hygiene activities along with relevant documented verification checks.
To review and update hygiene cleaning instructions and associated sign-off documentation as required.
To create new Hygiene Cleaning Instructions to ensure that any new equipment purchased by the company is cleaned in a safe manner, taking into consideration the manufacturers recommendations and in a way that ensures that the equipment poses no food safety risks once cleaned.
To ensure that hygiene equipment is maintained in a good state of repair & is readily available in sufficient quantity when required and to make recommendations to the Technical Manager where additional equipment may be required along with potential benefits.
To ensure that any machinery damage identified by or caused by the cleaning process is reported in a timely manner and investigated fully (root cause) so as to prevent recurrence.
As part of the management team ensure all requirements of Health & Safety are diligently carried out.
Ensure all documentation is presented in line with Company procedures and is maintained in an 'audit ready' state.
Our ideal candidate:
Chilled, High Risk, ready to eat Food Manufacturing is desirable
Previous Hygiene Management Experience.
Knowledge of BRC Audits and Retailer standards.
Full understanding of COSHH & relative regulations.
Experience in root cause analysis.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Dynamic & enthusiastic approach to developing individuals.
£38,110 per annum plus shift allowance where applicable
