Home Manager - Residential / Nursing - Wimbledon

Job Description

Our client is looking for a Home Manager for a 72 bed home which is based in Wimbledon. The setting is of a residential / nursing home with services such as dementia, pallative care as well as other services.

Salary: £22.00ph - £33.00ph

Job purpose

The client expects employees to give their personal best and strive for continuous improvement to ensure the highest standards of care and service are delivered to all customers.

The main requirements of the Home Manager are:

To ensure the highest standards are delivered through the effective management of staff and achievement of agreed financial targets.

Care and Service management

To ensure high standards of care and service as determined by our residents, our customers, legislation, company policy and service level agreements.

To ensure accurate record keeping in relation to the care of all residents including a consistently maintained and agreed care plan.

To be responsible for ensuring and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of key developments, which may improve care and enhance overall service delivery.

Principal accountabilities and activities

To ensure that adequate measures are taken to protect the health and safety of all customers and staff including the maintenance and upkeep of a safe and homely environment.

To be fully conversant with the protection of vulnerable adults and whistleblowing policies

To liaise and maintain excellent relationships with relatives, purchasers and all external agencies to secure a high reputation for the care home in the local community.

To develop a local marketing plan as appropriate.

To maintain levels of satisfaction to both residents and their relatives and adherence to legislative requirements and company policy, through effective quality assurance methods including regular quality audits and resolution of complaints

Financial management

To achieve agreed financial targets by maintaining required level of revenue (occupancy and fee levels) and ensuring the most efficient and effective management of resources.

To ensure that specified financial controls and processes are adhered to, including the supervision of the care home's administrator.

To produce the annual operating plan and evaluate and monitor performance against set objectives in conjunction with the Operations Manager.

People management

To be responsible for ensuring effective communication and dissemination of information whilst developing and maintaining excellent internal and external relationships.

To be responsible for selection, recruitment, induction, retention and development of all staff in accordance with legislation and company guidelines.

To ensure the Investors In People standard is met and that staff are supported, developed and trained as determined through appropriate performance reviews and according to business and statutory requirements.

To demonstrate an active commitment towards self-development and compliance with professional codes of conduct.

To ensure appropriate numbers and skills mix of staff to meet the requirements of the National Care Standards, in addition to on-call systems for contact in the event of an emergency.

To promote the clientgs philosophy and leadership principles of One Life including valuing staff and their contribution to the care home and company as a whole.

To undertake any such duties as appropriate to the position within the region.

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS - on the update service

NVQ level 4 or RN

Previous experince in a smiliar setting.

Proven track record

Qualification, knowledge and experience

Relevant professional qualification in care, eg RN or NVQ4.

Relevant management qualification as defined by the National Care Standards Commission.

Knowledge of the Care Standards Act 2000.
