Health and Safety Officer

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced H&S Officer to join a world-class 3PL and distribution business on a full-time, permanent basis in Co. Kildare, Ireland. This is a truly exciting time to join the company, recognised as one of the top 10 global logistics providers, as they continue to successfully expand their portfolio of clients. Health and Safety Officer

In essence you will work to ensure that a safe working environment is maintained for all staff in a busy warehouse environment. The scope and nature of duties and responsibilities within this position are wide and varied and will include leading in-house training for all managers and employees on the use of manual handling equipment, conducting site safety audits, co-ordinating accident investigations with the operations team, completion of risk assessments and safe systems of work, the provision of progress reports to the QEHS Manager, purchasing of safety equipment, liaison with external agencies and the maintenance and monitoring of all site H&S training records.

It is essential that you have H&S qualifications such as NEBOSH, or equivalent and have at least 3 years previous experience in a similar role (as a preference within the warehousing/logistics environment). Ideally you will have knowledge of ISO 45001 safety management systems and an MHE licensed training qualification would be an advantage.

You will be an approachable, professional and pro-active individual with superb inter-personal, communication and organisational skills. An ability to build relationships with all stake holders, and impart the H&S message from the bottom up will be required. This position will allow the successful candidate to approach this as a blank canvass and really drive the H&S message in the warehouse, so confidence and knowledge to make this happen will be required.

There is genuine opportunity for career advancement within this organisation, and the significant business wins that they have secured recently are set to continue well into the future.
