Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a high calibre General Manager to join a world-class transport and logistics organisation on a full time, permanent basis in the Coventry area.

In essence, you will deliver a first-class service to the Overland division, responsible for organising, managing and developing all relevant service line activities to reach identified targets relating to customer satisfaction, commercial development, productivity, efficiency and profitability.

Our highly reputable client is looking for someone to develop and build their reputation as 2-Wheel market leader as well as strategically supporting the development of Marine and Power Products vertical markets to support targeted turnover of £5.09m.

We are looking for a visionary leader who can inspire and develop others, a leader who is able to develop long term strategies focused on innovation and opportunity.

Our client has worked hard to achieve "great place to work", so driving employee engagement with team members based across multiple sites, including in-plant with customers is key to this appointment.

Candidates should have previously worked with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) in either Marine, Power Products or 2-Wheel marketplaces and will have demonstrable knowledge of cross dock and storage.

You will need commercial acumen, being comfortable building strong relationships with customers identifying new opportunities for profitable growth and maximising existing revenue streams to ensure a healthy, sustainable P&L. You will be customer centric and require proven experience of managing key accounts - each worth over £500k.

Required attributes:

  • Strategic leadership expertise gained within the supply chain and logistics sector.
  • Change management.
  • Employee engagement and developing a high-performance culture.
  • Commercial acumen including management of key accounts - identifying new opportunities for growth and maximising existing revenue streams.
  • Business transformation.
  • Sector knowledge of Two-Wheel, Power Products and Marine Equipment markets.

Education requirements:

  • IOSH Leading Safely (or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's Degree (desirable).
  • French speaking (desirable).

This role requires occasional national and international travel, therefore you will require a full clean UK driving license.

Salary for this opportunity is c£50k plus an excellent benefits package.
