Job Description

A great opportunity has become available for a Commercial Manager available to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding logistics provider on a full-time, permanent basis in Bradford. This is a truly exciting time to join the company that specialises in FMCG, Retail, Fashion, Supply Chain, 3PL and Distribution.

As Commercial Manager, you will have active involvement in rate negotiation with our nominated carriers for both sea-freight and air-freight.

You will attend and arrange meetings with nominated carriers and remain fully briefed on current market rates and conditions and share with the Account Managers within the organisation.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for creating and amending all quotes, client rates and Carrier rates in Cargowise as well as building relationships with all existing/new customers and attending customer meetings. You will also ensure that Internal operating system is kept up to date with all buying and selling rates.

You will be responsible for the creation of quotes for new business and new business opportunities and to deliver these to new or existing customers. You will produce all quote documents either for customers or the Operations Manager as well as manage received rate requests from the Account Managers and producing a quote within the agreed margins.

Within the role you will create information to broadcast on the Company Website, Twitter and Facebook accounts as well as create email blast information that is current and relevant for customer database and maintain the haulage tariff in Cargowise to ensure that haulage rates are always available.

Requirements we are seeking:

  • Experience of commercial exposure in fast paced 3PL environment.
  • A motivator with high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Experience in using innovation and technology to make a difference to customers and drive change.
  • The ability to develop operational capability and capacity by engaging employees at all levels within operations.
  • A team player who brings together people to deliver excellent results.
  • Commercial expertise with ability to analyse complex data and make decisions.
  • Excellent communicator and ability to manage key stakeholders including developing customer relationships at a senior level.
