Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant

Job Description

Our client is an impressive global steel business. They now have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant based at Stocksbridge or Brinsworth

The Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant role will report to the Finance Director and support decision making within the business including performance reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, along with other analysis to support business initiatives and planning.

Within the role you will be responsible for the generation of short date / monthly rolling forecasts and the evaluation and ranking of production run profitability. Using this information and variance reporting against forecasts, you will generate and report on monthly management accounts and commercial margins.

As part of the wider business team, you will support the strategic planning process for the business and provide ad-hoc scenario modelling and reporting.

The business is undergoing significant change, so you will be required to support on ad hoc projects as required and challenge current working practises and processes to drive improvement within the finance function. Development and maintenance of relationships with Company stakeholders and external parties will form an important part of the role.

The successful Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant will have the following qualifications and skills:

Experience of working in a finance role within a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment.

A Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)

Strong problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to management individual workload

Excellent Communication skills, written and verbal

Results driven with excellent analytical and reporting skills based on technical and functional skills and experience

An ability to deal with ambiguity and complex systems-based information

Ability to work as part of a team as well as in a standalone capacity
