Finance Manager

Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Finance Manager to join a leading food retailer, wholesaler, importer and distributor.

Our client is a highly regarded family business and have been established for many years serving the restaurant, food service, manufacturing and wholesale sectors.

You will head up the accounting operations and provide a strong and positive contribution to all areas of the business across multiple sites including London Head Office and two other locations.

Through the delivery of financial budgetary controls, management of the finance team and accurate reporting, you will deliver excellent financial discipline and rigour throughout the business.

This role is offered on a temp to perm basis so it is likely that the successful candidate will be immediately available

Duties include

Working with the Finance team to embed changes within the business, overseeing their daily activities, identifying what changes in processes, procedures and practices are needed to deliver better result

Delivering key financial insight to the business

Implement best practice processes to drive out costs

Overall responsibility for the integrity of all financial information, management and statutory

Monitor and report on cash position and maintain banking relationships

Manage the audit process in line with the requirements of the business and form a good working relationship with the company's external auditors.

Implement budget and forecasting activities and liaise with the suppliers, HMRC, Bank, tax authorities as required

Any other ad hoc projects as and when required by senior management

Key Skills

Recent experience from within a similar senior role

Finance related qualification

Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models with solid analytical and decision-making skills

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines producing accurate and functional documents

Knowledge of the food / foodservice sector useful but not essential
