Finance Business Partner

Job Description

Our client is an impressive global steel business. They now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner based at their site in Rotherham.

The Finance Business Partner role will have the following responsibilities:

o Creation, maintenance, and update of financial models required to support decision-making

o Preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts

o Financial modelling of longer-term plans and strategy scenarios

o Completion of weekly cash forecasts

o Consolidation of business unit budgets and forecasts

o Completion of standards revision exercises

o Development, and update, of standard product costs and actual product costs

o Generation of profit improvement and working capital improvement plans

o Evaluation of capital investment schemes

o Calculation of spend control targets, and reporting of deviations from targets

o Evaluation of winter power operating strategies and input to energy management processes

o Budgeting and tracking of Engineering major maintenance costs

o Supply data to the Financial Accountant to allow build of monthly profit and loss results

o Review, analysis, and reporting of monthly profit and loss results

o Actual v plan variance reporting on financials and key physical metrics

o Monthly balance sheet review, and analysis, reporting of reconciliation differences and issues

o Reconciliation of general ledger accounts assigned to the role, to the agreed frequency

o Supply of information to enable the conversion of management accounts to statutory format

o Review and development of internal controls for asset protection and accurate financial reporting

o Supply of data to external auditors and respond to questions

The successful Finance Business Partner will have the following qualifications and skills:

o Graduate with recognised Professional Qualification (Industry or Practice) e.g. CIMA or ACCA. Will consider qualified and part-qualified candidates

o 3 or more years' experience working in the manufacturing industry

o Performance measurement in a manufacturing environment

o Standard costing and standard product costs

o Construction of financial statements, P&L account, balance sheet, and cash flow

o Ability to manage and intelligently analyse large volumes of data

o Financial modelling

o High level of proficiency with spreadsheets

o Good mathematical skills

o Able to communicate with colleagues at all levels in the organisation

o Can connect the physical activities of the Business to the financial figures

o Ability to intelligently analyse data and draw out the key points and recommendations
