Designers and Senior Designers

Job Description

Our client is an impressive corporate organisation designing print and digital collateral for a range of projects. Due to continued success they are now looking to recruit permanent or fixed term contract Designers for their exciting new creative services team in Leicester, who are an integral part of the service delivery to their high profile client, and pivotal to their client's business development and marketing activity. The fantastic opportunities they have include: Designers, Senior Designers, and Creative Artworkers, salaries range between £30,000 and £43,000 per annum, depending on role, level of experience and shift worked. The successful candidates will be working remotely initially with a view to going into the studio from quarter 2 of next year, hybrid working will also be available. Our client will consider job share as well as full time. There are day, evening and night shifts available.

Duties for the Designer roles include: producing sophisticated collateral for clients and using appropriate software; ensuring work adheres to brand style guidelines; developing creative output of the studio; formulate design brief working with the client to challenge and gain clarity about the requirement, market audience and time frame; negotiate and agree deadlines, prioritise and assign resources to meet business demand; ensure the client is sent an initial estimate to sign off for the project; utilise in house project management software; and build exemplary relationships with clients on the phone and in person.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Designer:

  • Scoping out design-based projects and working with the design and project managers to execute complex creative briefs.
  • Create inspiring and exciting content - from repurposing, reformatting of assets to ideation.
  • Design for a broad range of audiences for consumers (B2C), estate agents and new homes developers (B2B), as well as internal audiences.
  • Design for a variety of touchpoints, key communications and media channels.
  • Develop briefs with stakeholders, communicate and collaborate with them to deliver quality work.
  • Positively influencing clients with creative input in addition to undertaking and pitching new creative concepts.
  • Partner with different specialist teams on key creative projects and design initiatives, like Product Marketing or Content.
  • Create and manage our evolving brand toolkit and creative asset platform in a contemporary accessible way.
  • Ensure work is completed within time and budget and raise any concerns relating to deadlines early on. Ability to manage own time is essential.
  • Build and grow our identity system, from photography and iconography to key templates to ensure consistency.
  • Act as a brand guardian ensuring the materials created always meet brand guidelines and the creative brief and that quality control checklists and procedures are always followed.
  • Adhere to consistent industry standard design and production processes, while also identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Keenly evaluate and monitor industry trends and brands, research industry developments in branding and marketing to be at the forefront of creative excellence.
  • Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables coming out of the studio.

The ideal Designer candidates will have:

  • A proven track record: you'll have a track record of creating amazing client deliverables and assets such as printed collateral, digital media, infographics, pitches and presentations. You have a good understanding of colour, layout and typography and how to correctly set up files for print and digital output. Experience in creating materials for the real estate industry is a plus.
  • Creative flair: you will have an innate talent and live for the aesthetic detail that can elevate the creative above and beyond. You will love your craft and be obsessed with the visual language of a project - whether it's a campaign, or just a quick scamp for a new business pitch.
  • Technical know-how: you'll have expert, in-depth and up to date knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and Microsoft PowerPoint and have a good awareness of current and emerging technologies and how to deploy them across the changing creative landscape, including print, colour retouching and digital artwork production. Knowledge of other digital tools like Premiere and Sketch is a bonus.
  • The creative production lifecycle: you'll have a deep understanding of the creative process and productions lifecycle, industry standard methods and tools. You'll have experience with creative systems and strong technical skills and believe they have a key role in production efficiency.
  • Innovation: you will have a fierce passion for all things creative and constantly bring fresh ideas into your team. You will demonstrate a keen interest in emerging trends in the creative production process and readily adopt new ways of working.
  • A good team player: you're able to work accurately under pressure and be committed to regularly updating skills through training. You'll be resourceful, adaptable, creative, and results-oriented with high energy and a positive attitude and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solutions-driven: as challenges will come to you, your solutions-focused mentality will ensure they are responded to and handled in an appropriate way, identifying wider issues for improvement with senior team members.
  • Communication: you will have a clear communication style and will be comfortable working as part of a diverse and energetic team. You will be comfortable presenting your ideas to your team and clients, confident to interrogate the brief and ask questions to ensure there is a clear brief and all the assets you need to do your job well.
