Client Support Worker - Mental Health (Leyton)

Job Description

Our client is one of the largest providers of supported accommodation services various clients such as young people, clients with a history of homelessness, mental health or substance misuse issues. They aim to help vulnerable people find opportunities to change their lives and futures.

Position Available: Client Support Worker - Mental Health (Leyton), 3-6 months, £11.71 per hour, 37.5 hours per week

Role Purpose:

To organise and deliver care support services for people with mental health problems which recognise the needs of a multi‑racial society to clients resident in the Forest Community Project.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. To act as the day to day manager of the project on a rota basis with access to advice and assistance from a qualified worker, as described in Policies and Procedures.
  2. To act as a keyworker for residents identified by the Manager.
  3. To compile care programmes and see that they are enacted with access to advice and assistance from a qualified worker.
  4. To assess risk and respond appropriately to clients in crisis.
  5. To work directly with residents using relevant experience in mental health and in line with the company's philosophy of normalisation with access to advice and assistance from a qualified worker.
  6. To attain a thorough knowledge of all the residents' medical social and physical needs and respond to them.
  7. To produce such written material or reports regarding the residents or any other matter relating to services as may be required by the Manager.
  8. To ensure a safe and comfortable domestic environment for the residents.
  9. To ensure efficient collection of housing charges.
  10. To follow and comply with such administrative procedures and routines as identified by the Manager.

Experience required:

Experience of supporting clients with a history of mental health issues or complex needs such as substance misuse issues or a history of homelessness.

Experience of key working and managing a caseload of clients

Experience of supporting clients in a supported accommodation or floating support.
