Business Development Manager

Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, enthusiastic and driven Business Development Professional who is passionate about developing their customers, forging professional, enjoyable and long-term relationships and identifying avenues for revenue growth. You will join a very friendly and expanding handling and fulfilment business in Leicestershire. With a track record of success within warehousing and distribution (or agency environment) you will be an essential addition in driving the company to that next important phase of growth.

The business has been at the forefront of the logistics and promotional marketing support services sector for nearly 30 years and works with a wide range of domestic and international brands helping to drive sales and build better relationships between clients and their customers.

Reporting into the Commercial Director your duties and responsibilities will extend to:

  • Gaining a thorough understanding of the company's varied offerings and capabilities
  • Utilising telesales, email, database management, networking and social media to identify and target suitable new client prospects for the business
  • Maintaining client records on the CRM system
  • Working with other areas of the business (Production/Logistics/IT) as well as the Commercial Director to ensure all opportunities are correctly scoped and priced
  • Meeting with clients to represent the business in a professional, consultative manner
  • Fostering and developing relationships with clients and seeing them through the onboarding process until handover with the Client Services team
  • Keeping abreast of trends and suggesting new markets and products to diversify into
  • Representing the business at tradeshows and business events where necessary
  • Creating and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline/forecast
  • Working with the Commercial Director & Marketing Exec to help guide the development of new marketing collateral as required
