Branch Assistant Technician

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for Branch Assistant Technician at a global specialist supplier of OEM solutions of based in Nottingham

The Branch Assistant is responsible to the Branch Manager to support the daily operations of the Branch. It is estimated that the training period necessary for this position will be 6 months but will be dependent on the individual. The trainees' progress will be monitored weekly during a review with the Branch Manager.

After a successful training period the Branch Assistant will be able to demonstrate the following skills,

The Branch Assistant will communicate with customers and suppliers verbally either face-to-face in the branch or using the telephone; using electronic media by sending and receiving e-mails or the facsimile machine. Using the appropriate media the Branch Assistant will, at all times be polite, courteous and accurate.

The Branch Assistant will assemble a hose either from a pattern, or from a drawing supplied by the customer. It will therefore be essential that the Assistant can accurately identify the hose and fittings, read and understand the Hydroscand Swaging Manual and safely operate the hose saw, skiving equipment and crimping machine.

The Assistant will be expected to demonstrate the ability to identify components and equipment brought into the Branch and either supply from stock or accept and process a customer order. Counter sales will involve customer account sales, cash sales or credit card sales.

The assistant will be able to produce a customer quotation and follow the process with the customer from their initial enquiry through to an order. The assistant will be responsible to follow up the quotations in a timely manner and obtain feedback regarding the outcome, the feedback must be communicated to the Branch Manager, the Regional Sales Manager and the customer record card be updated.

The assistant will be proficient in the use of the Company computer system for processing customer quotations, sales orders, purchase orders, transfers between branches, stock management and control.

The Branch Manager and the assistant are expected to operate as a team to ensure that customers are contacted regularly to ensure that a high level of interaction takes place ensuring that the customers' needs are met at all times and that their expectation is exceeded.

Working hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday - Friday

Salary for this role is £17-20K
