Air and Sea Freight Business Development Manager

Job Description

One of the leading providers in the Freight Distribution has an opportunity for a Air & Sea Business Development Manager. To be based at their site in Southampton.

You will deliver profitable new business in line with organisational strategic goals, identifying business opportunities, building key customer relationships, negotiating and closing business deals and maintaining extensive knowledge of market conditions.

You will apply business acumen to filter unsuitable business and qualify best leads from the pipeline and also define project approach, developing tailored proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.

As an individual you must possess air and sea freight sales experience.

You will possess strong sales and persuasion skills with ability to influence to a senior management level and also be an entrepreneurial thinker with a strong drive to succeed. You will have a high degree of business acumen with ability to interrogate commercial propositions dealing with tenders.

You will be a strong networker and a relationship builder who has excellent communication skills and a track record of success in the production of external tender responses. Excellent organisation skills are essential and you will be IT literate and have experience of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

You will meet with clients on a weekly basis to review accounts. These meetings will be held at the client's premises, so flexibility is required. You can work from the office on a daily basis or from home.

Salary for this opportunity is £40k-£50k working Monday-Friday (days). The package includes a company car, laptop, mobile phone and 24 days plus Bank Holiday annual leave.
