Administrator (Weighbridge Operator)

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Weighbridge Operator for a provider of recycling solutions based in Nottingham.

Role Profile

Day to day operation of weighbridge including waste acceptance and dispatch

Key Responsibilities & Activities (Details of the activities the team member will execute, monitor, report on, and manage)

  • Recording of transactions in P & L system (vehicle registration details, weight of loads etc)
  • Checking documentation to ensure that it is correct and legally compliant
  • Dealing with issues relating to waste receipts and dispatches
  • Producing and correlation of supporting documents and seals for material being exported
  • Maintaining records which includes recording data on excel spreadsheets, scanning and filing of documents in relation to loads dispatched
  • Dealing with drivers on a day-to-day basis ensuring they are aware of site rules and having difficult discussions on occasions
  • Liaising with operations to ensure material disposed of is in correct location and correct material is dispatched
  • Liaison with 3rd parties if issues with goods dispatched and sending them correct paperwork
  • Visually checking loads
  • For exportation loads, visual check of loads, secure TFS to load and put seal on container
  • Continuous improvement activities to include review of process and systems
  • Taking orders over the phone
  • Booking work with suppliers
  • Raising/sending purchase orders
  • Booking internal skip orders onto P & L
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers, both on the phone and via email to ensure work is completed on time and to provide ETA's as required
  • Ensure paperwork is received and processed

Person Specification

Technical Competencies

  • Computer literate both finance software and MS applications (in particularly excel)
  • A good knowledge of office H & S
  • In depth Product and Industry knowledge
  • Good knowledge of relevant waste regulations
  • Ability to self-manage, plan and prioritise workload


  • Good administration skills
  • Experience working within a heavy industry

The salary for this role is £22,000.

The working hours are Monday to Friday working the PM shift, there is some flexibility with the start time, anytime between 3-4pm.
