A forward-thinking storage, distribution and order processing business that provides a wide range of fulfilment services for a variety of national and multi-national clients throughout the UK and globally, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Account Manager to join their team in the Bedford region on a full time, permanent basis. (Mon to Fri, 8.30am to 5.30pm)
Reporting directly into the Client Services Director, this is a fantastic opening for an Account Manager to really become fully immersed in managing, retaining and ensuring appropriate service delivery to meet the requirements of your designated client base. An ability to build rapport and establish highly professional relationships with your customers, and understand their businesses to facilitate growth, will be essential. It is an interesting and challenging hands-on role, and one in which you can certainly make your mark. The role is a combination of active client account management and the management of client activities across departments. This means there will be significant inter-department liaison with colleagues in customer services, operations and despatch.
It will suit someone who is a people person first and foremost, and you must demonstrate an interest and experience of building relationships and getting to know people to understand their motivations and requirements. You will need to employ active listening skills to then act intelligent questions to gain a thorough understanding of your clients' requirements, then working closely with other departments to translate these into offering commercial solutions.
Additional responsibilities will include assisting the Director in working with Sales & Marketing for both new and existing business, on-boarding of new clients, providing client reporting, updating all departments on client activity and developments as well as continuous improvement to establish more effective ways of working collaboratively.
This is a highly autonomous role, in respect of being accountable for all aspects of your own performance, and this will be assessed against achievement of financial and service level targets and the retention, development and profitability of your clients. As an individual you will be highly personable, approachable, open-minded and have a positive attitude, as well as show flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in. Great communication skills are essential! You will join a friendly, dynamic team and will suit someone who thrives in this environment.
