Job Description: My client is one of the UK’s largest Food Manufacturer’s producing a wide range of chilled products and they are looking to recruit a NPD Process Technologist based at their site in Norfolk. The purpose of the role is to support the NPD Process Manager and the site in general in ensuring the effectiveness of factory processes in line with the needs of the business, to continually meet, improve and exceed customer expectations. On a day to day basis you will: § closely liaise with the NPD Process Manager or NPD Senior Process Technologist / NPD Product Team, ensuring up-to-date awareness of customer briefs; § assist with internal feasibility assessment in terms of product design and the product process; § co-ordinate and carry out daily trial activities, assessing new raw materials and ensuring draft process control documentation is prepared in advance § carry out all post-trial tasks in order to confirm relevant product information e.g. customer re-heat instructions, organoleptic assessment, freeze suitability & transit approval and provision of product quality standards, making available process documentation for launch; § preparation for attendance at product photography sessions; § preparation and responsibility for both pre-production runs and product launches, and, set up new products on recipe and equipment software systems as relevant. § To regularly review materials (including packaging), products and processes to drive innovation In return you will receive a competitive salary and life insurance. They are currently looking to recruit a Quality Manager You will be required to provide clear leadership of the Quality function in support of the factory operations reporting to the European Quality Manager On a day to day basis your duties will include: · Ensuring that Management Operating System for the area is accurately managed, maintained and developed to enable responsive fact based management · Mentoring and training your teams · To actively promote health and safety within the factory · Leading the Quality Assurance, Technical Compliance, Hygiene and Packaging Compliance initiatives in the business. Ideal candidates must have previous experience within a food manufacturing environment. You must be a strong people manager, have good interpersonal skills, and a high attention to detail. A HNC or equivalent in a food related subject is desirable as well as a proven track record of successfully managing teams.
